Our Story

Homeschool from Scratch was founded by former teacher turned homeschool mom of 4 kids under 6, Christina Cook, to serve the needs of real moms looking for life-giving education from home.

Hand-Tailored

Home Learning

As a mom of 4 under 6 who’s homeschooled with toddlers, homeschooled during the first trimester, homeschooled one-handed while feeding the baby—it is my honor to serve you in these early years of home learning. The homeschool world can feel like a closet full of mismatched clothes, none of which fit. My job is to welcome you to a way of homeschooling that feels like it was hand-tailored for your family, a timeless, Charlotte Mason education with a fun, fresh twist.

My Experience

Teaching Background

Christina is a former teacher at a homeschool hybrid who specializes in creative teaching and learning.

For the past 8 years, she has also worked as a tutor and homeschool governess, implementing learning in home for over 7 homeschool families and 60 homeschoolers. Prior to this, Christina worked as a special ed parapro in the public school system for 4 years, performing reading assessments with kindergarteners' school-wide and assisting IEP learners with their sight word and reading goals.

Christina has taught students from ages 4-14, specializing in creating unique solutions that uncover every child's genius. After becoming a stay-at-home mom, she founded Homeschool from Scratch to help moms start homeschool kindergarten with their oldest. While currently on hold due to her responsibilities as a mother, she is pursuing her Master of Education, with one course left before receiving her degree.

It is her greatest joy to help children uncover their God-given talents and to use them for His unique calling on their life!

A Peek at Our World

Slice of Life

Christina and her husband, Preston, live with their 4 kids on acreage in the Georgia countryside. She and her husband are both voice actors for the children’s devotional podcast, Greybobby, attend the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta.

It is her dream to someday open a microschool full of outdoor learning with a cottage style tiny home on the back property that’s both a living books library and coffee house where moms can fellowship and do entrepreneur work while their kids learn.

When she’s not teaching, she loves reading the latest novel from the indie Christian fantasy world, preferably with a pour-over coffee in hand. In her opinion meadows should always have wildflowers, croissants should be toasted, and bookcases should always open to secret passages.
